Flamborough RNLI crew going the extra miles to raise vital funds during May

The month-long event will commence at 10am on Saturday May 1, when mascot Stormy Stan will walk between Flamborough lifeboat station at South Landing and the lighthouse at Flamborough Head.

As part of the RNLI Mayday fundraising event, the Mayday Mile the volunteer crew at Flamborough is aiming to collectively cover 205 miles next month.

Flamborough Lifeboat covered a total of 205 operational miles last year and crew members plan to match this in a variety of ways, including walking, running, cycling, swimming and sailing.

The month-long event will commence at 10am on Saturday May 1, when mascot Stormy Stan will walk between Flamborough lifeboat station at South Landing and the lighthouse at Flamborough Head.

As part of the RNLI Mayday fundraising event, the Mayday Mile, the volunteer crew at Flamborough is aiming to collectively cover 205 miles next month.

A spokesman said: “Throughout the month the crew will add miles with their individual challenges.

“Progress can be followed on our Facebook pages Flamborough RNLI and Flamborough Lifeboat Station. Donations will be gratefully received, either directly or through our JustGiving page.”
