North Yorkshire Water Park reopens - how to book swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking

Scores of people have taken the plunge or balanced on paddle boards since North Yorkshire Water Park at Wykeham reopened.

Following social distancing guidelines, the water park, part of the Dawnay Estates, opened with slots for open water swimming, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking.

After a great turn out on the reopening weekend, the water park have added additional activity slots:

Stand up paddle boarding and kayaking: Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm and Monday and Tuesday from 5.30pm t0 7.45pm

Open water swimming: Saturday and Sunday from 9.45am to noon and Monday and Tuesday from 5.30pm to 7.45pm

The park has a free 2.5km lakeside cycling, running, and walking track around the lakes which provides access into woodland and a beautiful natural environment with scenic views.

Its café is open for takeaway teaw, coffee and snacks.

Day and annual permits are available to launch privately owned sailing craft, kayaks, or stand up paddle boards.

Changing rooms, showers, and larger toilet facilities are not open. Access is available to the disabled friendly toilet for everyone.
