An all day celebration of the King of rock and roll will take place at Scarborough Spa next Summer.
The Elvis Fan Club Scarborough will host Memphis by the Moors, a full day and evening celebration paying homage to Elvis Presley on Thursday 16 August 2018.
Due to the success of their inaugural event earlier this year, the fan club, who are officially recognised by Elvis Presley Enterprises Graceland, have already outgrown their original venue and will now host their annual celebration in The Spa’s Ocean Room on what will be the 41st anniversary of Elvis’ passing.
The full-day celebration will feature exhibits showcasing original concert memorabilia and genuine Elvis owned items, including a 1974 TC1 14k Gold Omega bought by Elvis on August 30th 1974 and gifted to his best friend Charlie Hodge.
There will also be a host of items from Las Vegas and Memphis, with the earliest exhibits dating back to 1956, the year it all began for a young 21-year-old Elvis.
Throughout the afternoon there will be live music from local Rock & Roll trio The Derailers and Steve J Paver plus screenings of Elvis films.
The day will be rounded off with full evening Vegas showcase tribute to Elvis with award-winning artist Steve Caprice and an Elvis discotheque.
There will also be a marketplace featuring a number of stalls selling vinyl, art and Elvis memorabilia and a grand raffle & charity auction with proceeds going to the fan club’s nominated Charity: St Catherine’s Hospice Scarborough.
Food and drink will be available throughout the day from the onsite bars and catering outlets.
Tickets for the Memphis By The Moors are on sale priced at £10 (plus booking fees) from Scarborough Spa’s box office (01723) 821888 and via www.scarboroughspa.co.uk
