Located near Wykeham, the destination launched to the public in 2017 with its AquaPark, dedicated to providing families, holidaymakers and water sports enthusiasts alike with a day out, or activity session, to remember.

Throughout the summer, visitors can also book the onsite camping facilities to enjoy an extended stay.

Visitors can already enjoy kayaking, the AquaPark, paddle boarding, open-water swimming, pedalos and more, along with a complement of land-based outdoor pursuits (walking/cycling/running) around the Lakes.

The park also houses separate fishing lakes for expert and leisure fishing.

The investment will see an all-new wake boarding line added to the park’s current leisure offering, along with kickers and rails, allowing visitors to expand their skills with experienced instructors. In addition, new buildings will house a new café and decking viewing area by the lake.

The new lakeside buildings will also become a modern central facility which will become the base for customers arriving at the park to use both the fishing and water park amenities.

The work is set to be completed by early summer with the investment also seeing new infrastructure and signage to further improve customer experiences and ease of navigation around the venue.

The park will also expand its calendar of events and aquatic activities.

David Steel, Chief Executive of Dawnay Estates which owns North Yorkshire Water Park, said: “It’s an extremely exciting time for the Water Park as we expand our facilities and what we have to offer ready for the summer season.

“Offering wake boarding will complement our fantastic range of outdoor water pursuits as ‘adventure awaits’ for our guests at the ‘New North Yorkshire Water Park’, when we are able to welcome them again as lockdown eases.
