Beautiful blooms and home-grown vegetables took centre stage at the Scarborough and District Horticultural Association’s early flower and vegetable show.
The event at Crossgates Community Centre featured a wide range of produce, plus a pot plant section, cacti and succulents plus a bonsai tree section.
Gordon Shepherd, the association’s secretary, said: “It was a very good show and those who attended really enjoyed it.
“We weren’t fully subscribed as some growers had experienced difficulties earlier in the year due to the weather, but things are really picking up now.
“It’s looking good for our next show in September.”
Mr Shepherd added that the pot plant section was “exceptional” and that the bonsai trees were also excellent and popular with onlookers.
The next show, at the same venue, will be the early chrysanthemum and dahlia show on September 7 and 8.
