WE have teamed up with the British Beer & Pub Association to help save pubs in the Scarborough area.

As many pubs are struggling for survival, we call upon our readers to show how much affection they have for our pubs and their role in the community.

The Evening News is supporting the launch by the British Beer & Pub Association of ‘Pub Life’ – the UK’s biggest pub photography competition and exhibition.

The campaign aims to highlight the plight of local pubs and celebrate their importance as venues of social gatherings.

So what can you do?

Amateur and professional photographers are invited to capture scenes from their locals.

We will publish the pictures – and you could have the chance to win an Olympus camera and for your image to be exhibited in a top London gallery from 16-23 May.

Send your pictures to dave.kettlewell@yrnltd.co.uk or post them to the Evening News, Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough, Y011 1BB, marked Pub Life, before the deadline of Friday April 29 2011. Cheers!
