AN afternoon of musical entertainment raised £348 for the Scarborough branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The event at the Red Lea Hotel in Prince of Wales Terrace featured organist Howard Beaumont and vocalist John Mitchell.

Guests enjoyed a selection of music along with coffee and biscuits.

Dorothy Rushowrth, fundraising group leader, said: “We were pleased to raise this money and everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

“The music was brilliant.”

The Alzheimer’s Society’s next fundraising event will be a coffee morning on May 12 at the Park Manor Hotel in Northstead Manor Drive.

It will be on from 10am to noon and admission costs £2.50 to include coffee and biscuits.
