Thrills and spills will be on offer as Scarborough Fair rolls into town on Wednesday.

The fair, which will be in William Street coach park, is the East Coast’s biggest family funfair.

The attraction, which has been coming to town for decades, features fast-paced, heart-racing rides as well as traditional side-shows, such as coconut shys and hook-a-duck.

There will also be food stands selling fairground treats such as burgers, hot dogs, candyfloss and cinder toffee.

The fair opens on Wednesday from 5pm to 10.30pm, Thursday from 3pm to 10.30pm, Friday from 5pm to 10.30pm and Saturday from noon to 10.30pm.

All rides will be half price on Thursday October 1 from 3pm to 6pm.

Organisers will have on-site security in operation to ensure a safe event for all the family.

There will be no gangs, drugs or alcohol permitted on site.

The Scarborough News is offering discount vouchers which are valid on Wednesday from 5pm til the fair closes that night. They are also valid on Saturday from noon until 6pm.

The vouchers can be found on page 52 of this week’s paper.
