A BOOK reading centred around the Titanic is being held to mark the 100th anniversary of the ship’s sinking.

Woodend Creative Workspace, in the Crescent, is hosting the event, where guests will have the opportunity to meet Dr John Welshman, author of TITANIC - The Last Night of a Small Town.

As well as the talk by Dr Welshman, who is senior lecturer at Lancaster University’s department of history, there will be a complementary display of Titanic memorabilia, including a rare White Star Line officer’s jacket from the period.

The talk is being held on Tuesday, April 17 at 6.30pm. To book a place contact Kathy or Fiona at Woodend reception on (01723) 384500.
