Animal park: go and enjoy delightful place

RE Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park.

We took our two energetic grandsons (aged eight and six) to Filey, and we now know why they won Best Hidden Gem in Yorkshire 2011 award.

A great time was had by all, keep the good work up. A big plus - not too dear!

It is not too big, so that the little ones get lost, friendly animals to touch if you are brave enough.

Our six-year-old liked the Shetland ponies, just about his size. The eight-year-old loved everything including the alpacas grazing merrily. Great picnic areas and adventure trail, the sandpit proved popular too.

The biggest rabbits I have ever seen, beautiful birds in their aviaries. Well manicured lawns and gardens, we even saw a tortoise racing around the ‘guinea pig’ house (we wondered where the hare was, or perhaps he was getting into the Olympic mode).

Go and see this delightful place yourselves, hats and suncream if sunny, wellies if iffy! Enjoy and have fun. For those without transport, local buses drop you right outside. Happy summer holidays to one and all.
