STAFF at a Scarborough vets have been looking after a young stray kitten for the past few days and are today appealing for a good home.
Molly, a three-month-old tortoiseshell kitten, was found in the Seamer Road area on the afternoon of Saturday, January 7.
Vicky Smith, a student veterinary nurse at Companion Care Vet Surgery in Seamer Road, said she was brought in at about 2pm but seemed unaffected by her ordeal.
She added: “She was fine. She looked quite healthy and in good condition. She wasn’t underweight.
“She’s quite a feisty little kitten – she’s a tortoiseshell and that’s quite common.”
She said that Molly was found just off Seamer Road and they had looked after a number of different animals over the past few months. “We had a full litter brought into us last year,” she said.
And Molly could be forgiven for being a little confused because staff have come up with two names for her – she is also known as Poppy.
Vicky said: “I think we just can’t decide. She looks like a Molly to me.
“If we could trace the owners that would be good. But she needs a good home.”
l Molly’s owners, or anyone who would like to adopt her, are advised to contact (01723) 503144.
