Arrest following attack on police station

Following a public appeal a 26-year-old man from Scarborough has been charged with Criminal Damage and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm following an attack which left a PSCO requiring hospital treatment.

It happened at 10.20pm on Sunday August 16 at Eastfield Police Station when a man threw a heavy garden ornament through a double glazed window, injuring a woman Police Community Support Officer who was working inside.

The officer received chest and facial injuries and was knocked to the floor. She was taken to Scarborough Hospital by ambulance where she was discharged following treatment.

Today, the 26-year-old has been charged and will appear before magistrates’ later this month.
