SCARBOROUGH Athletic’s chairman Richard Adamson is in hospital following a car crash while leaving the club’s away fixture this weekend.

Mr Adamson is currently undergoing treatment at hospital in Leeds after the collision on Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred on the outskirts of the city shortly after Mr Adamson left the ground at Farsley AFC.

The car, driven by Mr Adamson, was also carrying club president John Fawcett and supporter Mike Price.

Emergency services were called to the scene and all three were taken to hospital.

Mr Fawcett and Mr Price were shaken but allowed to return home later that evening, however Mr Adamson was kept in hospital for further tests.

Scarborough Athletic communications director James Hunter said: “Richard’s condition is not yet known but we are keeping close contact.

“We will update concerned supporters as soon as possible. Our best wishes go to Richard and for his speedy recovery.”
