Audi driver, 62, dies in serious collision with truck on A64 near Scarborough

A man has died in a serious collision on the A64 near Scarborough.

The incident happened at around 11.40am between the B1261 Seamer roundabaout and the A1039 Staxton roundabout near Scarborough.

A grey Audi A4 car was travelling towards Scarborough when it crashed with a yellow MAN AA liveried recovery truck travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision the driver of the Audi, a 62-year-old man from Lincoln, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the AA truck, a 57-year-old man from York, was uninjured.

Police collision investigators attended and examined the scene and the road was re opened at 5.30pm.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen either of the vehicles prior to the collision to contact the Major Collision Investigation Team on 101, quoting the incident reference 12190229658.
