A Scarborough woman who dedicates much of her time to raising awareness of epilepsy has won a national charity volunteer award.
Tracey Vasey, chairman of the Scarborough branch of Epilepsy Action, has had her efforts recognised by the charity after leading a successful four-year campaign to get a specialist epilepsy nurse for the Scarborough area.
Philip Lee, chief executive at Epilepsy Action, presented the award. He said: “Tracey is a role model for active volunteering and an excellent advocate for Epilepsy Action’s work. Her efforts bring about change to improve the lives of people with epilepsy.”
