YOUNG band Stairwell 17 are sharing a bill with 80s icon Hazel O’Connor on Friday.

Although still at school, they have also landed support slots with Bruce Foxton from the Jam and Lindisfarne. A tour of the US east coast is being planned, if the band and its supporters can raise enough money to pay for it.

The band is appealing for sponsors. If you would like to help, email
