A SCARBOROUGH woman is going to places she has never bean before in aid of charity.

Ashleigh Nellist has vowed to sit in a baked bean bath in public view for 12 hours to raise money for Comic Relief.

She will take on the challenge in the window of the Opera House Casino, where she works, between the hours of 5pm on Red Nose Day and 5am the following morning.

Ashleigh, who works on reception at the St Thomas Street venue, said: “We were just talking about it and thinking of ideas and we thought this would be hilarious.

“I’m not going to have any breaks at all – just 12 hours of hell.

“I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m starting to get a bit worried about it but it’s all for charity.”

Rachel Walters, PA to the directors of the Opera House Casino, added: “Everyone is really happy to support Ashleigh.

“We love to involve staff in things like this. It’s for a fantastic cause, it’s something a bit different and it should be a lot of fun.”

This year Red Nose Day will take place on Friday March 18.

Donation buckets will be set up on the night at the casino.

Anyone who wants to sponsor Ashleigh in the meantime can do so by filling in a sponsorship form at the reception of the Opera House Casino.

She can also be sponsored on the Comic Relief website. To find her page search for Ashleigh Nellist’s name on the site.
