Nine months of rigorous training has paid off for a Pickering-based personal trainer.

Katherine Bray’s efforts to get her own body into peak physical condition have earned her a podium place in a national competition.

The 37-year-old mother-of-two took part in the Fitness Model Comps World Championship event in Hoddeson, Hertfordshire, pitting herself against some of the nation’s most sculpted bodies.

Katherine couldn’t quite believe what she was hearing when her name was announced for third place in the Diva category (ladies aged over 35) of the contest.

She said: “Even though I was hoping I would place I wasn’t really expecting it, I was so surprised, but it feels amazing and it’s nice to receive this recognition, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

Two gym sessions a day for five days a week, plus Katherine’s personal training sessions with clients, as well as a highly nutritional diet have all resulted in an outstandingly strong, fit and toned body.

She added: “It’s been gruelling at times but it feels so rewarding, and it’s as much about your mind as your body. Building a healthy, strong body can have a positive impact on your mental health too, stimulating a sense of personal growth and self-confidence.”

Katherine will be taking another turn in the spotlight at the end of April, at a charitable Elite Body fitness model and bodybuilding event being held in Worksop.
