Scarborough Athletic chairman Trevor Bull is hoping for a bumper turn-out on Saturday to boost the club's coffers.

Boro will host Leeds United's Under-23s at the Flamingo Land Stadium, with the pre-season fixture kicking off at 2.30pm.

Attendances haven't been the best during the recent friendly fixtures and Bull is hoping for a good attendance as the club bid to keep their finances on track for the 2018-19 campaign.

He said: "Last season we said if we get the numbers through the turnstiles we will be able to build a successful team on the pitch, we did just that and we are aiming to do the same again this year.

"Those of you who have been to watch our recent games will have been impressed with the quality of the football we have been playing and we’re hoping for a bumper crowd on Saturday to help swell the coffers and keep us heading in the right direction and in a position to compete well in our new league.

"Saturday’s match against Leeds United Under-23s promises to be a great occasion, whether you support one of the sides or even as a neutral the talent on display should be well worth watching.

"Please remember the turnstiles open at 1.00pm with kick off at 2.30pm. It is advisable to get down early to claim your spot and avoid any last minute congestion.

"It was disappointing to see some anti social behaviour taking place near the end of last week's game.

"We can assure you that, the same as last season, the club will not tolerate this and will continue to work with our security partners and the Police in dealing with any issues including supporting prosecutions where necessary as well as the issuing of Banning Orders."
