Scarborough Athletic have opened their new Boro Hub opposite the market in the town centre.
Not only will the hub provide the club with office space for meetings, but it will also double as a shop where fans can buy season tickets and memorabilia.
It is the brainchild of Boro’s Jamie and Jane Daniel, who teamed up with a number of fans to bring the hub to fruition.
Jamie Daniel said: “At the moment it is open on Saturday mornings, but we are drawing up a roster of eight to 10 volunteers, so hopefully in the future we can open the hub a few more times during the week.
“It is great for the club to have a presence in town, it also gives us somewhere to have meetings and work, while on top of that the fans can come down and buy merchandise.
“Since we opened on Saturday we have sold a good number of season tickets and we are hoping to have a card reader in place for this coming Saturday.
“We will also be selling a few reduced items of kit and other merchandise this weekend as well as we prepare for the kit launch.
“In the coming months we are hoping to launch a few drop-in sessions at the hub, so fans can come down and talk to a director.
“We would like to say a big thank-you to Scarborough Borough Council, who have made this possible and also to the fans that came down and helped out at the hub.”
Boro would like to thank Dave Hunter, Gordon Toal and Steve Welbourne, Steve Marsh, Alan Bruce, CPH Property Services, Graham Young, Mr and Mrs Hepton and Neil Daniel.
The club would also like to say thank you to Dominic Lerpiniere from A1 Security and Fire who installed the alarm free of charge and Orisec who supplied the alarm free of charge.
