Scarborough Athletic have moved to snap up more homegrown talent in the shape of Joe Danby.
Danby came through the ranks at the Scarborough FC school of excellence and went on to play for Scarborough Town, Bridlington Town and more recently Pickering Town.
Steve Kittrick has been a fan of the left-sided attacker for some time and he is delighted to add him to the set-up.
He said: "Joe is somebody we've been watching for a while, he did well against us in pre-season and also in the North Riding FA Cup match.
"He wanted a chance to play in a higher league and we've given him that. I think he's very capable of pushing on."
Meanwhile, defender Ellis Humble has opted to move on to Spalding United to play closer to his home in Lincolnshire.
Kittrick added: "Ellis was fantastic for us last season, he just wanted to be a part of what we were doing.
"He has been doing a lot of travelling with us and when Spalding offered him terms I told him to go and play football.
"I'm sure he'll push on once he gets some games under his belt."
