AN initiative is being launched at Scarborough Hospital to raise awareness of brain injury and its consequences.
As part of the national Action for Brain Injury Week, Headway Yorkshire East Coast is hosting an information stand near the catering area at the hospital from noon to 5pm tomorrow.
On hand to help members of the public gain a better understanding of brain injury will be Mark Hollinghurst, chair of Headway Yorkshire East Coast.
Mr Hollinghurst said: “The theme for this year’s Action for Brain Injury Week is ‘caring for someone with a brain injury’. Headway is committed to providing wide-ranging support to those affected and we welcome this opportunity to raise the profile of what we do, to people who need our support and those who may be in a position to offer support to others.”
