A bid by a Leeds-based businessman for the Futurist Theatre will not be considered further by Scarborough Council.
Council leader Tom Fox told today’s Full Council meeting that “having considered it, nothing else has happened with it” and that it would not be going before the cabinet for consideration.
He added that a report on the Futurist would be coming before the council in the future and it continued to work with its preferred bidder, Flamingo Land, to develop the site.
The bid by Jamie Hudson would have included a £1 million part renovation of the building.
No decision on Futurist is likely now until new council sits after May’s election.
