Police in Scarborough have confirmed that they were called to a sudden death in Eastfield last night.
Officers responded to the call at 6.50pm and said the incident was the sudden death of a man in his 40s at a property in the area.
A spokeswoman said: “Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and will prepare a report for the coroner.”
A local resident told The Scarborough News: “My husband noticed a lot of police cars near Proudfoots and wondered what was going on.
“We heard later that someone had died. It’s absolutely horrible - you really feel for their family.”
