The keys are for the room of John Heald, 53, who is currently wanted in connection with the murder of Mrs Cater on Friday 18 July.

The keys look similar to those shown in the picture but are for room number one; which was the room John Heald checked into on Thursday 17 July.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Baldwin from Humberside Police, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “It may be that the keys were lost or discarded in the Bridlington area and a number of enquiries have been made to try to find them.

“Alternatively, John Heald may have taken the keys with him and may have subsequently discarded them back in the South Yorkshire area.

“I would urge anyone who sees a set of keys like this to contact police.”

Mr Heald is believed to have travelled back to South Yorkshire and a search to find him continues in the Rotherham area.
