Bringing the past to life

Scarborough youngsters have been getting hands on with history thanks to a partnership between Scarborough Museums Trust and the Children's University. After-school clubs are being held at Friarage, Gladstone Road, Braeburn and Barrowcliff primary schools. The clubs are about engaging children in their local surroundings through the collections that are held at Scarborough Museums Trust, including the Art Gallery and Rotunda Museum. At the end of each half term, the children visit either the Rotunda or the Art Gallery to see the real objects which have inspired the clubs.
