SCARBOROUGH youngsters still have time to enter the writing and photographic competitions in this year’s Burniston Show.
The show will take place at Flatts Farm off the Coastal Road on Bank Holiday Monday August 29.
However the deadline for entry to these children’s competition categories is Sunday July 31.
Manuscripts and photographs must be sent to children’s secretary Leigh Todd by that date.
Entry forms are available to download at www.burnistonshow.co.uk or you can just include your name, age and address with your entry for these classes.
The writing competition is split into three age categories which is in line with the school key stages: seven and under, eight to 11 years and 12 to 16 years.
The piece of creative writing must begin with “The light at the end of the tunnel...” It has to be a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 500, with the word count stated on the manuscript.
The photographic competition this year is sponsored by The Photo Studio and is open to any child under 16 years of age.
The unmounted pictures, standard or digital, colour or black and white, must be 7” x 5” in size with the subject of Peasholm Park.
First prize is a £50 sitting voucher from The Photo Studio.
Entries must be sent to Mrs Leigh Todd, The Willows, 8 The Dene, Scarborough, YO12 7NJ by July 31.
