An apprentice from the Scarborough area has become a real success story thanks to training provider Tyro Training.
Emily Jesson is now training with Marshall Aerospace & Defence Group with help from the Scarborough-based company.
Emily said: “I studied and passed all my A-Levels, and got into my first choice university.
“However, after several months, I realised that I was eager to get on and kick start my career and gain as much experience in the workplace as possible. That’s when I began to research apprenticeships.
“It was then I came across Tyro Training, Scarborough, one of the Business Development Centres of Craven College.
“They had advertised an Apprenticeship with Marshall Aerospace & Defence Group that was very appealing to me and so I submitted my CV.
“Within the week I had a response from Tyro and received an invitation to have an interview. I was given the opportunity to develop my understanding of what apprenticeships have to offer, and how it would improve my career prospects and employability.
“I am looking forward to the rest of my Apprenticeship and have great confidence that upon completion this will create the foundations for a successful career in the area I aspire to work in.”
