Bank building goes under the hammer for £1.4 million

A town centre property which is currently home to a high street bank is to be sold at auction with a guide price of £1.4 million.

The building at 92 Westborough, which houses Halifax bank, is going under the auctioneer’s hammer on December 6 at Acuitus auction in London’s Millenium Hotel.

Covering five floors the 6,214sq ft freehold property is being offered for £1.4 million.

It is expected to attract interest from investors due to the lease with Halifax, which rents the building for £104,500 a year until 2021.

Auctioneer Richard Auterac said: “There is huge investor demand for well-located, well-let investments such as this and we’re expecting strong bidding at the auction.”

The property comprises a ground floor banking hall with basement storage, first floor office accommodation and second and third floor ancillary/storage accommodation.
