CELEBRITY chef James Martin has been linked with a move to The Everley country hotel in Hackness.
The venue has been on the market since it closed suddenly and mysteriously in May last year.
Rumours have since circulated that the Saturday Kitchen presenter, who trained at Yorkshire Coast College, may be interested in buying the property.
Limelight Celebrity Management, which represents James Martin, would not comment.
Agents selling the two-storey stone hotel denied the property has been sold, but said there had been “renewed interest”.
Jamie Keith, agent at Barry Crux and Company surveyors, valuers and property consultants, said: “There has been a lot of interest but we haven’t received any offers
that have been acceptable to our client.
“There has been a bit of renewed interest in the new year and we have done a few viewings, but the property is still on the market.”
Mr Keith said James Martin was not one of those to have viewed the property to date.
The Everley, which was built in 1754, is on the market with a guide price of £500,000.
The property, which overlooks the Forge Valley, includes a restaurant and bar area as well as three letting bedrooms and four bedroomed private accommodation.
It also includes an attached holiday cottage which sleeps up to five people.
