Help to build better businesses

A WORKSHOP is being held in Scarborough in a move to help local companies improve their business.

Business Link Yorkshire is hosting the event, entitled ‘Build a Better Business - without spending a fortune’ on Monday, March 7 between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

Along with tips on how to diagnose your business needs, the event at Woodend Creative Workspace, in The Crescent, will offer practical advice, inspiration and encouragement.

Among tips to businesses is don’t let the economy get you down and don’t try to do it all yourself; a bad habit familiar to more than a few business owners.

Brian Woodhouse, Business Link Yorkshire’s local manager covering North Yorkshire, said: “The workshop is packed with ideas such as making your business a destination and discovering the power of point-of-sale advertising.

“We also give delegates a practical hints and tips pack and there are plenty of real life examples and great business stories.”

“It doesn’t always go the way you hope it will in business, but this workshop will give delegates some eye-opening insights into the skill of rapidly adapting and turning disadvantage to advantage.”

Mr Woodhouse said the event is part of Business Link Yorkshire’s new programme of free workshops, organised to meet a rising demand for business advice as customers are keen to make the most of the services before November 25, when the regional service will be replaced by new national arrangements.
