High street could be set for new store boost

SCARBOROUGH could be set to welcome a new high street store.

Trespass, which specialises in outdoor clothing, is currently advertising for positions in Scarborough on job websites.

However, the company did not wish to disclose any further details when contacted by the Evening News yesterday.

The news comes as Scarborough gears up to experience a potential boom in shopping opportunities.

Cllr Derek Bastiman, Scarborough Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration, will officially announce on Monday that two shops are due to re-open for business.

The former Pykes sports shop, on the corner of Newborough and St Thomas Street, and the Klick Photopoint shop, in Newborough, have been earmarked for development.
