The 52-bedroom hotel, which is run by Epworth Hotel Group, overlooks Robin Hood’s Bay.

Set in 90 acres of grounds, the business also includes eight eco-lodges and a nine-hole golf course.

Judges said they chose Raven Hall as the winner of the award as a result of its “stunning surroundings and epic views of the amazing countryside and coastline, coupled with a very high proportion of guests who would repeat their stay or recommend it to a friend”.

Raven Hall was the only hotel in Yorkshire to win one of the Best Kept Secret Awards.

The award, a specially designed crystal cube, was made to the hotel by LateRooms.com in association with Coast Magazine.

Commenting on the award success, Epworth Hotel Group Director Diane Uhalde said the win was good news for the business and good news for Yorkshire.

She said: “This is great news and gives national recognition to our magnificent views.

“Some hotels can boast a room with a view but in our case the entire hotel and our eco-friendly lodges enjoy a dramatic location.

“We are delighted to be chosen from thousands of entrants, not just for our prime location but also as a result of tremendous positive feedback from customers. It is good news for the Epworth Hotel Group and good news for Yorkshire.

“The award can only help to encourage more visitors to come and stay with us in order to enjoy the beautiful Yorkshire coastline.”

There were 10 category winners in the Best Kept Secret Awards including Best Breakfast and Best Customer Service.

The winners were chosen from thousands of entries coupled with feedback from hotel users.

Raven Hall’s win follows success earlier this year when the hotel won a Best Business Tourism Award from Visit York.
