Former Labour Deputy Prime Minister Lord John Prescott will be the special guest speaker at University of Hull's first Scarborough & Coast Business Day later this year, it has been revealed.
An alumnus of the University of Hull, Lord Prescott is well- known for his engaging accounts of life in Parliament and sharing his sometimes controversial opinions.
He will address business and other guests at The Scarborough & Coast Business Day at The Spa in Scarborough on November 30 - ahead of the prestigious Scarborough Business Awards in the evening.
The day time event, aimed at both SMEs and larger businesses, is about bringing the local business community together to think about tackling business challenges, as well as providing inspiration for innovation.
Bill Walker, Director of Strategic Relationships at the University of Hull, said: “We are really excited to be able to organise such an event to complement the excellent work of the Scarborough News and the Business Ambassadors in bringing together local businesses large and small to focus on growth and the health of the Scarborough and North Yorkshire economy.“
The University of Hull decided to organise it in association with it sponsorship of the popular Scarborough Business Awards.
