A NEW business has opened in Scarborough’s town centre.

Keen knitter Eve Sherlock has opened her own wool shop in St Thomas Street.

Yarns 4 Ewe is now open and trading after being officially opened by Scarborough Mayor Hazel Lynskey and Mayoress Sheila Kettlewell along with the Vicar of St Mary’s Jean Ferguson.

Ms Sherlock said: “I have a lifelong love of knitting so hope to bring a wealth of experience to the shop.

“Whether you are knitting a baby’s layette, an Afghan, a fashion garment or socks, the team here is able to provide help for beginners and old hands alike.

“I am really pleased with the location of the shop as it is right in the heart of Scarborough. It is positioned directly opposite all major bus stops including the Park and Ride, Matalan and the Opera House Casino.

“There is also plenty of parking nearby which will be useful for customers.

“I am really pleased with the shop and the variety of stock we sell for knitting and crochet which are suitable for all budgets.”

Ms Sherlock is using the shop to host three knitting clubs a week, on Tuesday and Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings.
