A family run letting agency is celebrating its 15th year in business with a move to new premises.

Staff at Tower Estates held a champagne reception to mark the opening of their new office in Falsgrave Road.

They invited landlords, contractors and others who bosses at the agency felt had been instrumental in helping the business become established.

Tower Estates director Mark Hunter said; “As we move into our 15th year of letting property in Scarborough, I would like to thank all of those people who have helped make Tower Estates such a huge success.

“In particular, my wife Chris and her sister Val who effectively run the business on a day to day basis.”

Mr Hunter said before starting the buisness he was a landlord himself, and since setting up the industry has changed significantly for those involved.

He said: “We started this business after experiencing the lettings market as Landlords, and realised the need for an agent that would make the process smooth and uncomplicated.

“The need is greater than ever these days as legislation is much more complicated compared with 1998. Owners need to be very careful not to fall foul of the rules on Deposit Protection Schemes, Inventories, Energy Performance Certificates, Landlord’s Buildings Insurance Policies, Gas Safety, Fire Safety, Electrical Safety and many other areas.”
