THE sale of one of Scarborough’s crisis hit hotels is moving forward.

Administrators for the Wrea Head Hotel say the sale is “progressing”.

A buyer for the property came to light last month when two business partners wrote to Scarborough Council objecting to plans for a wind turbine near the Scalby hotel.

The men said they were in the process of buying the 20-bedroomed hotel.

The Wrea Head Hotel has been run by administrators alongside the Hackness Grange Hotel, the Royal Hotel and the Clifton Hotel following the demise of the English Rose Hotels chain.

Chris Rooney, administrator of Wrea Head Hotel Limited, said: “The potential sale of the Wrea Head Hotel is progressing.

“Hackness Grange Hotel is still for sale and we are in discussions with a number of interested parties.”

There is no news to date surrounding a sale of the Royal or the Clifton.
