North Yorkshire Police is appealing for help to identify a man and woman in connection with the theft of an iPhone 6 from Currys in Scarborough.

The CCTV footage was recorded as they entered the Seamer Road store at 3.55pm on Monday June 15.

The couple had been inside for around 25 minutes before going to the mobile phones stand. They were then seen leaving the store.

A security check revealed an iPhone 6, valued at £600, had been removed from its display cradle between 3pm and 5pm.

On viewing the CCTV, staff raised suspicions about the man and woman and contacted the police to investigate.

The image has also been circulated to other Currys stores around the country. It is believed the same couple had been in the Aberdeen store where a theft had also occurred.

The suspects are both described as Asian, with the man about 5ft 10in tall, wearing dark jeans, a grey and black sweatshirt, grey trainers, a black baseball cap and white-rimmed sunglasses.

The woman is around 5ft tall with black shoulder-length hair tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a black and white striped jacket with a black top underneath which has a silver design on the front, grey dress-style trousers and she was carrying a large handbag.
