Chamber, Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards launches for 2013

This year’s Chamber, Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards was officially launched today.

At the event, held at East Riding College in Bridlington, organisers announced that Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, will be a guest speaker at the awards, while the tourism body will also be headline sponsor.

Previous winners, sponsors, the steering group, hosts and the charity beneficiary Help for Heroes attended and heard speeches from Geof Humphrey of Nexus Proficient, event organisers, Bruce Massie of the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce, Neil Watson, chair of the judging panel, Guy Newsam of sponsors Muntons Malt and college ICT students Elliot Hickie and Gizella Boda, who designed the new and improved awards website.

The Chamber, Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards, now into its seventh year, will take place at Bridlington Spa’s Royal Hall on October 11.

They celebrate the best in business in East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Humberside.

Organiser Geof Humphrey said that ticket sales are already well in advance of where they were at the same point last year, and announced four new awards for 2013 - Retailer of the Year, Fisheries Business of the Year, Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year and Businessperson of the Year.
