Changes to polling stations in Scarborough ahead of December 12 General Election

Three polling stations in Scarborough have changed location for the forthcoming General Election on Thursday 12 December.

Friarage School is no longer being used as a polling station. In a permanent change, voters will instead vote at Queen Street Methodist Church, Central Hall, Queen Street, YO11 1HQ.

Barrowcliff School is no longer being used as polling station. Voters will instead vote at Briercliffe Children’s Centre, 76 Briercliffe, Scarborough, YO12 6NS.

St Mark’s Community Hall on Coldyhill Lane is not being used as a polling station for this election. In a temporary change, voters will instead vote at the TA Centre, MPC Army Reserve, Coldyhill Lane, YO12 6SE.

All other polling stations throughout Scarborough and Whitby remain the same, but Scarborough Borough Council is advising those that haven’t voted in some time or aren’t sure of the location of their polling station to check where they need to go to vote.

People can check the location of their polling station by referring to the details on their poll card or calling the council’s Customer First team on 01723 232323.

People living in the areas of Filey, Hunmanby, Folkton, Flixton, Primrose Valley, Speeton, Reighton and Muston vote in the Thirsk and Malton Constituency. More information about the polling stations and candidates for that constituency can be found at www.ryedale.gov.uk
