A 10-year-old from Scarborough will chop her long locks for charity to support two worthwhile causes.
Casey Greechan has been growing her hair for a couple of years and has decided to donate her locks to the Little Princess Trust – a charity which provides real hair wigs for children suffering hair loss.
The money raised will be donated to Scarborough’s Rainbow Centre.
The youngster has already raised £300 surpassing her total aim of £200 and is hoping to raise more before the big day on Sunday January 16.
Casey is excited to get her hair cut and has been growing it out for a couple of years.
Her hair, which runs down to past her bottom will be cut to about shoulder length and 11 inches will be donated.
Proud mother, Chloe Greechan, said: “She just approached me one day and she was talking about being able to donate your hair so I did a bit of research and explained it to her.
“I use to be a student social worker at the Rainbow Centre and we’ve done the Boxing Day meals before so she’s always had a link to the centre and Casey admires what they do there.
“The money they had stolen was from a recent charity auction. Hopefully the money she’s raised will go a little bit of the way and they can put it to good use.”
