FIREFIGHTERS in Scarborough were called to a chimney fire in Crossgates.

The alarm was raised at 11.05am on Wednesday (December 21) and two appliances – including an aerial ladder platform – were sent to Station Road.

They used a hose reel to put out the flames and were able to leave the scene just before 12.15pm.

Crews were due to revisit the property for an inspection at 2.30pm to check that the fire had not reignited.
