RESIDENTS at a Scarborough care home enjoyed a taste of China at a special themed event.
Queen Margaret’s Nursing Home in Filey Road organised a Chinese buffet, games, and Origami, fans and Chinese lantern-making for residents as part of the day.
Matron Joanna Laurie said: “It is part of our activities programme to run themed evenings and brighten tea-time up a bit.
“We invited relatives and friends of residents to join us and offered a Chinese buffet with rice, mixed veg and sweet and sour prawns, spring rolls and home-made prawn crackers and a glass of wine.
“Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the residents and visitors all said what a wonderful experience it was. It was ideal for everybody to get together and really enhanced the residents’ morale.”
In the wake of the event’s success the home is hoping to stage an Italian evening towards the end of June, followed by a summer fair and barbecue.
