Coastguard and helicopter rescue man from cliff at Flamborough
A man had to be rescued by coastguards and a helicopter after getting stuck on top of a cliff at Flamborough yesterday (Monday June 25).
Bridlington Coastguard's rescue team was alerted just after 12.30pm to reports of a man on top of Green Stacks who was unable to climb down.
The coastguard team requested the assistance of the helicopter which winched the casualty to safety.
A spokesperson for the coastguard said: "This rescue comes after an extremely busy weekend for HM Coastguard after figures released showed the third busiest day of the year was recorded this week for our coastguards.
"So please, stretch your legs but not our resources."
