Scarborough and district residents have the chance to win £250 - by coming up with a great name for a new development.

McCarthy and Stone is inviting locals to enter a competition to name its new Retirement Living development on Newby Farm Road.

To mark construction getting underway the award-winning housebuilder has launched its ‘What’s in a name’ competition.

As well as the honour of naming the new development and being granted the opportunity to attend the official opening, the person who comes up with the winning entry will also be awarded a cheque for their efforts.

Liz Green, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone North East, said: “We are excited to invite people from the local area to name our latest development in Scarborough.

“We’re looking for a name which will be relevant to the local community, and it can be anything from suggestions honouring local heroes to those celebrating the history of the area.

“Simply submit your name idea by Tuesday 9 August for your chance to scoop the prize.”

The new development, just outside of Scarborough, is an ideal option for those looking to retire near the coast yet also wanting to enjoy the benefits of village life.

Designed exclusively for the over 60s, the development will offer a collection of 42 one and two bedroom stylish apartments.

To be in with a chance of naming McCarthy and Stone’s exciting new development, and to win £250, all you have to do is send your name and contact details, along with your suggested development name, to mccarthyandstone@mccann.com.
