Coffee chain Costa has revealed its plans for lingerie store Ann Summers when it takes over the premises later this year.
The cafe is moving further up Westborough in order to take advantage of the greater space on offer,
In plans submitted to Scarborough Council the chain has shown that it intends to make use of both the ground and first floors of the property, next door to Boots.
The chain has still not given any indication of when it plans to move into the store, with the lingerie retailer’s lease on the property coming to an end shortly.
In its submission the applicant states: “The ground floor can accommodate 79 seats.
“In addition, the first floor can accommodate 44 seats.
“Externally, two tables and six chairs will be provided.
“Customer toilets including a unisex disabled compliant toilet are provided towards the rear of the unit.
“The intention is to relocate the existing Costa outlet at 1 Westborough to the application premises should the application be successful.”
The relocated coffee shop will be open from 6.30am to 8pm and will create between 10 and 12 jobs.
Costa is not the only national franchise hoping for some good news in Scarborough in the New Year.
Pizza Express recently moved forward with its plan to open a restaurant in Sandside.
The national chain submitted a planning application to take over the X-Chainstore store at 11-12 Sandside earlier this year.
Now the company has presented a licence representation to Scarborough Council, outlining the hours it wishes to operate.
In the application it states that it would like to serve alcohol and play recorded music from 11am to 12.30am from Monday to Sunday.
A spokesman for Pizza Express said that it intended to open in Scarborough in “summer 2015” but he added that they could not be more specific at this time.
