Scarborough Council has revealed that two alternatives will be discussed when it decided at what level to set its council tax rate for the coming financial year.

The council will decide between freezing the council tax or by raising it by 1.94 per cent.

This would equate to an increase of £4.10 per annum for a Band D Council Tax payer - or 8p per week.

The budget for 2014/15 will be discussed at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, but no decision on the whether to freeze or raise the tax will be taken at that time.
