Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted at Scarborough Fair in William Street coach park on October 1.

At around 2pm, the woman was stood holding her son’s hand near one of the ball games. She was stood with a male friend and his children.

A woman approached the man and following a verbal altercation, turned to the victim and hit her in the face.

The suspect then walked away with two men and a small child.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
