SCARBOROUGH police are investigating a burglary and theft.

It took place between midnight on Saturday and 11am on Sunday when the burglars entered a flat in Briercliffe and stole two handbags.

One of the stolen handbags is described as being black and sparkly, containing a Nokia mobile phone. The second is silver and held a bottle of “Kylie” perfume. Both bags also contained other personal items.

PC Craig Malia, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who can help identify the burglars who stole the handbags or may have seen either of them in unusual circumstances.”
