Police are appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in Scarborough town centre.

It happened on outside CEX on Westborough around 4.15am on 28 August and involved an unprovoked assault upon an 18-year-old man who received facial injuries as as result.

North Yorkshire Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesman said: "In particular, we are appealing for information about three males and one female seen in the area at the time.

"The four people are described as follows;

* One white female, with blonde hair, wearing a white top and dark trousers

* One white male, with fair hair, wearing a black top and dark trousers

* One white male, with shaved hair, wearing a light blue top and dark trousers

* One white male, with dark hair, wearing a light/white top and dark trousers
